You guys are awesome!
That wasn’t a question, but thanks anyway!
What kinds of stuff do you do?
Ball juggling, club juggling, ring juggling, glow juggling, diabolo, devil sticks, contact juggling, bounce juggling, toss juggling, unicycling, poi spinning, staff spinning, plate spinning, and maybe a couple more. We’re always looking to expand our repertoire!
Do you have a mailing list or some such?
Funny you should ask…e-mail Kaan Vural or Isaac Bloch to receive general updates as well as practice times and locations.
Man, this is so sweet…do you have any videos depicting your awesomeness?
Not on this website, but if you have a look around YouTube you’re sure to find some clips of us being awesome.
Can you recommend any juggling resources?
Check out our links page for some links to basic tutorials, equipment vendors, and juggling groups and organizations.
I can’t juggle. Am I not awesome enough to join you?
Our only firm requirement for membership is enthusiasm! We’ll be delighted to pass on our awesome motor skills to you.
Do I have to be a Yale student to join?
No, though you do have to be an undergrad to qualify for the top officer positions (President, Treasurer, etc.)
When and where can I guys catch you?
You can generally find us in the Berkeley Multi-Purpose Room on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. This can be subject to change, so if you’re not on our mailing list contact Kaan Vural to double-check or get more information about how to access our practice location.
Do you meet over Winter and Summer Break?
We don’t usually meet at winter break, but sometimes we have members who stick around over the summer. Contact Kaan Vural if you want to get in on summer YAGS.
Could I borrow some juggling equipment? Pretty please?
Our equipment is communally owned, so in theory we have no objection to letting you borrow props. The caveat is that, because we have to make these props available to everyone, we generally let people borrow stuff if they come to practice with some regularity.
Spring Show?
Every spring, YAGS puts on a full-length theatrical performance chock-full of juggling. It’ll make you laugh (because it’s funny), cry (because you’re laughing so hard), and think (mostly about how funny it is).
Wow! That’s awesome!
Thanks! We know.
I have to get in on this! When is it? Where is it? Is it cheap?
Whoa, slow down! We don’t usually have specifics on time and location this far in advance, but if you’re on our regular mailing list you’ll get the relevant updates when it’s time. You can contact Kaan Vural to get on the list. Attendance is free and open to all people who are legally allowed to be on campus, though we suggest you reserve a seat ahead of time as we get a fair turnout on our shows.
Could I get you guys to do a performance?
We’re an easy-going group, so we can’t guarantee that there will be enough jugglers who have the time to do a performance. That said, it depends on the time, the length of the performance, and the kind of performance you want. Contact Kaan Vural for more info.
What kinds of performance do you do?
Our performances generally run around the length of a talent show act, between 3 and 10 minutes. On occasion, we’re also asked to jazz up the atmosphere at an event by just hanging around and juggling in the background, which we can do for much longer.
What are your demands for a performance?
As a rule, we like large spaces – high ceilings in particular if indoors. We’d also like a fair amount of notice to get organized and prepare, especially if you have something a bit more complicated in mind than the general formats outlined above. We also generally get compensated for our performances unless they’re for non-profit organizations.
Compensated, you say? How much?
Again, it depends on a number of things. Contact Kaan Vural for more specifics.
I can’t get over how awesome you guys are!
Thanks! Neither can we.
